Young writers have explored a variety of themes and genres since September, starting off with writing in the first person while taking on a new persona as many well-known authors have done. We then employed another common trick of the trade using ‘what if’ to generate an exciting and unexpected situation to write stories about. Next we jumped to the richly evocative theme of ‘family’. In relating a family adventure, writers were able to bring familiar experiences. to life for their readers. They continued on this theme in the genre of free- verse poetry, where they encapsulated a vivid family episode or relationship.
Now writers are busy putting across a moral message in the form of a fable with a traditional flavour. From there they will fast-forward to the trendy world of creating brand concepts which is so prevalent in Hong Kong and learn more about this creative process.
