SCULPTURE CULTURE

This exciting workshop introduces children to working in Three Dimensions. Changing themes each term introduce a different 3-D artist and a new aspect of sculpture to students. Throughout the course they will experience various sculptural forms including relief, carving, casting, kinetic, papier-mâché and assemblage.

Experience all forms of sculpture from the small to the huge, from life-like to abstract and imaginative.

Workshop covers 3-D techniques in:

  • constructing wire frame sculpture
  • modeling with plaster of paris
  • building up forms with paper pulp
  • bending, shaping, cutting and tying wire to make 3-D forms
  • wood carving and embellishing your work with a wood-burning pen
  • carving into stone, wood and pumpkin
  • constructing in card using folding and cutting
  • casting shapes in sand and clay
