Crafting stories in illustrative graphic form is the most exciting way to enhance visual creativity and serves as the foundation to other creative endeavors such as animation, film-making, webpage design or any other moving medium. In our Pulp Fiction workshop, participants will experience the creative process of comic art production including scripting, structuring and designing ideas into storyboard form, developing plots and character design, as well as studying different effects and treatments to enhance the quality of artwork. Participants will learn how to design a comic book story interface, learn illustrative techniques commonly used in comics, develop their personal artistic style and execute the production of art through planning, design and sequencing. The course will offer a better understanding of how to synergize creative writing with visual concepts. A two-page comic spread with cover design will be created for the final production over 8-weekly term.
